Описание

Based on an Ian Proctor National 18 hull, built for the present owner by Bourne Plastics. Fitted with a custom deck layout and an easily managed modern Lugsail yawl rig with carbon fibre spars. Proved to be a very fast boat for classic regatta racing and coastal cruising with overall wins at Fowey and Falmouth classic yacht events. Comes with a full cover, road trailer, ground tackle and a tender. Perfect for someone looking to get involved in the classic regattas without the cost of a large yacht but still with the ability to win trophies., SPECS: Builder: Bourne Plastics, Designer: Ian Proctor, Keel: Centerboard; DIMENSIONS: Beam: 7 ft 6 in, Length on Deck: 18 ft 0 in, Minimum Draft: 0 ft 10 in, Maximum Draft: 4 ft 3 in, Ballast: 65 lbs, Dry Weight: 500 lbs; ELECTRONICS: Depthsounder, Log-speedometer; SAILS: Fully battened mainsail; RIGGING: Tiller; OUTSIDE EQUIPMENT/EXTRAS: Tender - Avon Redstart; COVERS: Cockpit cover; ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT: Road trailer - Bramber SPECIFICATION: Wooden Ships Comments A very unusual and eye catching day boat which has won much silverware at classic boat regattas and has graced the pages of several yachting magazines both here and in France.  The hull is a Proctor designed National 18 and was built to order for the present owner by Bourne Plastics. Professionally converted by Sail & Oar of Totnes in 1996 to take a lugsail rig, the 180 sq. ft (16.6 sq m) sail plan gives an outstanding performance in very light airs, and when the wind picks up the sailing is totally exhilarating.  Three large reefs  keep the boat easily manageable for a crew of two. The owner usually sails with just 2 people and has cruised her around Cornwall as a husband and wife crew.  She has won 1st overall at both Fowey and Falmouth Classic regattas plus a number of other prizes, including 2nd overall in the Great Glen Raid 2001. This is a unique and very special boat in excellent condition and will suit someone looking for an unusual yet fast and competitive day boat.  She is tough, spacious and stable and is an ideal boat for dinghy cruising as well as round the cans racing (a trapeze can be fitted and is included with the other equipment).  She is big enough to sail up and down the coast in comfort and with pace.  She comes with a comprehensive inventory of gear including a full cockpit cover and a galvanised road trailer.   Length on Deck                                                 18' Length overall                                                   22'9 Length waterline                                              18' Beam                                                                    7'5 Draught plate up                                              10 Draught plate down                                        4'3 Hull weight approx                                          500 lbs /227 kg Sailing weight (2 crew)                                  950lbs /430 kg   Construction GRP hull laid up using woven glass cloth in the usual manner, however the resin has no pigment in it, as specified by the owner, so the structure of the glass was visible (no short ends, voids or hollows) Side deck and foredeck laid in varnished Robbins Elite marine plywood with solid mahogany coamings all round and a solid mahogany rubbing strake.  The large cockpit is self draining and there is watertight stowage space for cruising gear under the foredeck plus in six large lockers below the cockpit floor. Hinged cast alloy aerofoil centreplate of 65lbs in a case.   Rig Lug yawl rig on keel stepped unstayed Carbospars carbon fibre masts and main boom with a highly advanced zero deflection carbon fibre lug yard by CompoTech. Sails by James Lawrence.  Large fully battened mainsail with 3 reefs (163 sq ft/15.1 sq m) Loose footed bermudan ?leg-of-mutton? mizzen (17 sq ft/1.5 sq m) sets to a removable carbon fibre bumpkin The use of modern materials makes the rig very lightweight, reducing weight aloft and making it easy to handle   Equipment Bosun grid steering compass Stowe combined log and speedo 9lb Delta anchor to chain and 100ft nylon warp 12lb Fisherman anchor to nylon warp Sims spruce oars and bronze rowlocks (seldom used!)
