It was decided they wanted a boat with traditional lines, gaff rigged but with a bit more speed and performance than they were used to. With underwater lines inspired by the mini Transat race yachts, the design was formalised by Justin Adams and built by the experienced and skilled shipwright Ivan Jefferies and launched in 2003. With traditional construction methods and materials, she is a careful blend of old and new which appears to have worked very well. Her striking and very vintage above water lines hide an ultra modern underwater profile which gives her incredible performance powered by the large sail of the gaff cutter rig. She has a spacious cockpit, ideal for the regatta racing crew but comfortable on a passage when cruising.
