Single screw motor yacht, Designer: Admiralty, Builder: Portsmouth Dockyard, Year: 1977, Location Cornwall, Length on deck: 33'2, Beam: 11'6, Draft: 3'7, Tonnage(TM): 7000kg disp, £24,000, REF: 3803, Full Specification, Built by Portsmouth Dockyard in 1977, apparently as a motor yacht for an Admiral. Her hull shape is distinctly Naval very similar to the pinnaces carried on the larger ships she carries the lower rubbing strake and ?badges? or raised varnished doubling pieces at the aft corners with a varnished transom. A very comfortable and spacious boat with a generous beam for her length helping to increase the interior volume. The large aft cockpit is excellent for those sunny days but with the full all over canvas hood it serves just as well in the rain. Well maintained in present professional ownership, she has been put ashore every spring for antifoul, paint and varnish plus a full mechanical service. Topsides painted in May 2015, varnish touched up throughout the summer of 2015. Length on deck 33?2?, Beam 11?6?, Draft 3?7?, Displacement 7000kg, Construction, Hull planked in a good quality mahogany all copper fastened to steamed oak timbers on an oak back-bone. The deck was replaced for the previous owner by Falmouth boat builders in very neat straight-laid laid teak joggled into the cover-board over a ply sub deck, the seams payed with butyl rubber compound. A deep varnished teak toe-rail and substantial varnished teak rubbing strake all round emphasise her sheer. A lower level varnished teak rubbing strake runs round the hull 18? above the water-line. The two meet heavy varnished teak ?badges? at the stern quarters, matching the varnished teak transom. Heavy Sampson posts each side of the aft deck take mooring warps. Modern extending davits over the stern conveniently carry the dinghy. Single, heavy oak Sampson post on the fore deck capped with chromed plate take forward mooring lines. A plough anchor stows in a heavy polished stainless steel single chain roller stemhead fitting. Bronze fair leads at the quarters with a very useful midships mooring cleat on the rail each side. Double guard wires are carried on 5 stanchion posts each side dropping down to the deck aft with a pull-pit round the stem, all with a smart grey powder coated finish. The side decks are narrow but sufficient to allow free passage forward to the fore deck. Electric chain windlass on the fore deck which is exceptionally clear and clean. The fore hatch is built in varnished teak with a beautifully radiussed opening lid ? a sign of the fine quality refit work in this vessel. The superstructure is built in varnished teak with 3 opening windows each side and windows across the forward face, the frames are probably bronze, also finished in grey powder-coating. The coach-roof deck and dog-house deck are in sheathed ply nicely rolled round the edges and fitted with varnished teak grab rails each side. A small mast is mounted on the coach-roof deck and carries lights and ariels. The deep, large cock-pit is very safe with excellent shelter under the dog-house over the helm position with lockers under the side decks each side and stowage under the aft deck. A new cock-pit tent on stainless steel hoops makes the cock-pit into a comfortable living space, New seating has been built round the stern in varnished teak with new blue covered seat and back cushions. Teak table. The cock-pit sole boards are in scrubbed teak with 3 lifting panels down the centre-line to access hull structure, engine and stowage. Two high level chairs with stainless steel frames, blue canvas seats and foot rests. Helm position to port with traditional teak-spoked wheel fitted with new hydraulics to the single bronze rudder stock under the after deck, fitted with an auto-lube greaser. Engine controls panel, single lever Morse controls and nav instruments on a console. Engine access hatch between the two chairs. 6?+ head-room under the dog-house roof. Windscreen wipers on both sides. Excellent all round visibility from the helm. Centre twin panelled doors to the cabin. Machinery, Engine, Perkins H635 6-cyl 125hp naturally aspirated, fresh water cooled diesel engine. This is the low-profile engine to keep the installation below the flat cock-pit sole. The engine compartment is sound-proofed with the modern lead-backed foam material. This engine was procured as-new in 2004 from Naval Stores with new hydraulic gear-box and has approx 220 hours running on the clock. New stainless steel shaft fitted at the same time with a fixed 3-blade bronze centre-line prop. The stern gland is fitted with an auto-lube greaser. Regular professional service in present ownership including new automatic greasers to stern gland and rudder stock. Tanks, 180 litre stainless steel fuel tanks each side under the cock-pit sole. This installation gives a comfortable cruising speed on 7.5knts at around 4.5 lts/hr (approx 1 gallon per hour) with a max speed on 9.5knts. Tanks both drained, cleaned and sterilised in 2015 to remove diesel bug, hatches made in cockpit to access tank inspection plates. New Racor pre- filters fitted 2015. Batteries, 4 x 12v batteries on 24v circuits. The vessel was fully rewired in the recent refit. 240v shore power connection. 240v 3-pin sockets in the cabin. Batteries all new in 2014. Accommodation, 5 berths in the open-plan cabin. V-berths in the bow extending forward under the fore deck. The stbd forward berth is shorter due to the heads compartment; full length port berth. Moving aft, heads compartment to stbd with new sea toilet, stainless steel sink/drainer in a unit against the bulkhead. The mixer tap fitting also carries a shower fitting. From the heads compartment back to the after cabin bulkhead to stbd is a settee berth with seat and back-cushions, stowage under and behind. On the port side is a dinette arrangement with athwartships seating forward and aft of a table, the seating also fitted with matching blue canvas covered cushions. The table can be dropped between the seats to make a double berth using the seat back cushions. A fridge is installed under the after seat, accessed from the middle of the boat, works on 24/240 volt with new auto switch over. Galley in the after port corner, fitted with a smart stainless steel 2-burner, grill and oven gas cooker against the after bulkhead which is lined in stainless steel above the cooker. Under the side deck is a stainless steel sink/drainer, also lined out in stainless steel. Mixer tap provides H&C. The sink drains overboard through a seacock below the sink. Water is supplied by pressure pump from an 80 litre stainless steel water tank. Hot water is generated in a 20 litre calorifier tank alongside the engine, heated by the engine cooling water and with a new 240 volt immersion coil. The cabin is lined against the ship?s sides and the deckhead. The joinery is nice quality varnished mahogany. The upholstery all new in 2014. Curtains at the windows new in 2014. The sole is carpeted. 6?2? head-room with a light, spacious feel to the cabin. Compass. Navman depth and speed. Autohelm ST3000 auto-pilot. VHF DSC radio, GPS, Raymarine chart plotter, Clock and barometer, CQR anchor, 60 meters chain, Simpson Lawrence 24v electric windlass, Waveline 2.7m Airdeck inflatable dinghy, Yamaha 2.5hp outboard (Serviced 2015), Life jackets, Horns on the coach-roof, Fixed boarding ladder up the transom.
