Ex IOR racer, refit 2000This Oyster 41 from 1981 has undergone a total refit from 2000 and is in very good condition. A total of 27 ships of this highly competitive Stephen Jones IOR one-tonner design were built by Oyster Marine between 1980 and 1987.
The deck layout is well thought out and the fittings are of good quality. There are no less than 11 Lewmar winches mounted around the cockpit to use the sheets and trim lines. The rod-rigged fractional mast is very easy to trim with the back and check stays. An extra genaker boom has been placed on the foredeck, the sails are still in good condition, the Genoa is even as good as new from 2020.
The interior was completely renovated in 2000 and arranged differently, the kitchen was enlarged and the benches lowered to normal height. A lot of new closet and storage space has also been created. It has been decided to keep the boat as open and light as possible. The 4 sleeping places in the stern can therefore only be closed with a curtain. The front cabin with toilet room and double berth can be closed with a door. The motor was replaced in 2000 and concealed in a formwork. By sliding it forward, the engine is accessible all around for service. This Oyster 41 is still a very fast yacht by today's standards which will do well on the competition course. Yet she is also easy to sail with a small crew, so that the boat is certainly also suitable for a sporty family. The mediation goes through the White Whale Yachtbrokers Enkhuizen office.
