Victoire 855

Beautifu l and complete Victoire 855 with special history; Designer of the boat and 1st owner is Dick Koopmans Jr. who sailed with it twice to the Azores and also Madeira. He won several races with it. Fantastic and fast sailor (my PR 9.5 knots SOG without tide, 11.2 SOG on the North Sea, but Koopmans probably sailed much faster with it...) with very strong hull and balanced rudder. A stronger than standard hull was chosen, by adding a certain fibre during construction. It sails high on the wind, runs very easily at its theoretical hull speed and higher on wide courses, with a great deal of balance rudder feel. The current owner has sailed a large part of the Dutch North Sea coastline in recent years, especially around the wadden region and the IJsselmeer. He also renewed the mast and rigging, including the Seldén furler and extendable gennaker tree. Refit interior '16. Numerous other improvements made in recent years. During winters stored on the shore and underwater maintained annually. Miscellaneous invoices and old certificate present. To visit by appointment in Naarden www.wehmeyer.nl
